More than a year ago, the inhabitants of the Aardehuizen founded a new association, to properly arrange the management of all communal matters with each other. An association with an unsurprising name: Aardhuizen Olst management association. But in practice, the BAO is refreshing. Because the working groups that are responsible for the management of paths, water supply, the Middenhuis, communal greenery, electricity and finances and internal communication partly change members twice a year. The changing of the guard takes place by drawing lots during a 'Tombola evening'.

Thanks to this system, every participant can at some point end up in a workgroup with a package of tasks that he or she has no knowledge of. And it is precisely because of this that the association ensures that knowledge and experience are widely shared, instead of certain work always falling on the same shoulders. In addition, you will also come to work together in a completely different setting with Aardehuis neighbors that you may not often encounter otherwise. In this way, everyone will eventually gain basic knowledge of, for example, the water purification system and the finer points of the multi-year maintenance budget.

An internal survey among the Aardehuis neighbors showed that almost everyone is satisfied with this new approach. And as always applies here: nothing lasts forever. The BAO members are always willing to trade this system in for an even better idea.
